I was a gruelling 12 hour days cleaning floors and tearing down wallpaper with the baby on my back, and others playing into the playpen. Ha! All was starting to form, but it wasn't quite finished. To complete this task I had planned to spend a considerable amount of time and money shopping for my dream home. My three sons and I looked for treasures hidden attending estate sales in order to ensure that my spending was under control. It was a weekly tradition that we would stroll through estate and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays, purchasing a mix of old and new pieces. My next task was to spend working on my projects outside in our driveway. What I saw looked something like... that's when my desire to repair furniture began. I kept on restoring furniture even after we had decorated our house. I rented a booth on the local market, and also sold items there. There were so many pieces I didn't have a clue what to do with them and I outgrew my space. More than 1000 people came to my house in one weekend, to shop for everything on the ground floor. That's how my company Growing Days was born. Alongside my flourishing company, I also started our family. I was balancing the demands between what it took to start a new business and be a mommy too. Growing Days seemed like the ideal fit. In 2013, my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. It was a great direction for my business, however I was also in need of some time off. I took some time away from furniture that was vintage to enjoy some quality time with my kids. That was precisely the thing I needed. Within a couple of months, my phone started to begin to. People contacted me asking to help them with decorating their homes and interiors. A majority of them walked into my house at my open house for furniture. I began taking on clients one at a time taking my time but it didn't take time before I was running several accounts, and I was operating the complete business of home remodeling. When you first told me about my business in home renovation, I laughed. When I look back, it still makes me smile.
