Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. She is an actor as well as a singer and dancer. One of her first Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors, actors, and other performers in stage and on screen throughout the entirety of her professional career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the show. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
